What's New in 2.2

Welcome to FORXAI Video Vision 2.2!

Summary

With this release we are launching new product FORXAI Mirror, see more information in dedicated release notes and documentation for this new product.

Following major functions were added in this release:

  • State Machine which enables multi step iterations such as requests which require multiple inputs in a sequence.
  • NVIDIA Triton support - powerful server for running machine learning models, bringing support of various additional model formats and enhancing performance
  • Role-Based Access Control or RBAC, enables protection of selected functionalities only to authorized (and authenticated) users, promoting security
  • RFID Reader enabling flow logic to work with user IDs obtained by swiping their personal ID cards

FORXAI Mirror

Added support for FORXAI Mirror, the latest addition to the family of FORXAI products.

FORXAI Mirror is an access control solution for ensuring proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage among workers. With its machine learning-powered camera and user-friendly interface, FORXAI Mirror facilitates real-time monitoring and feedback, promoting adherence to safety protocols with efficiency and accuracy.

Major Features

Major features introduced in this release are described below. This release includes other changes related to fine-tuning FVV capabilities, bugfixes, UX and other improvements which are omitted in this article.

State Machine

Added State Machine support.

A State Machine is a bit like a vending machine. You start with the main screen, waiting for you to pick something. That's the initial state. When you select the item you want, it moves to a different state, like showing the price or asking for payment. After you pay, it moves to another state, dispensing your snack and returning to the main screen.

Therefore, a State Machine is basically like a vending machine. It has different states it can be in, and it moves between them based on what you do. Each state has a specific job or action, and the machine changes states to perform those actions.

Here's an example of how these states are utilized to enable the FORXAI Mirror workflow:

NVIDIA Triton support

Introduced support for the Triton Inference Server, providing a runtime environment for executing inference on trained deep learning models.

Role-Based Access Control

Added support for role-based access control (RBAC), enhancing security and governance within the X platform. The system uses predefined roles, ensuring that each account has a specific level of access.

RBAC helps organizations comply with regulatory requirements by enforcing access policies and maintaining audit trails, thus reducing the risk of unauthorized access or data breaches.

The currently supported roles are:

  • Customer operator - Access to basic FORXAI functionalities and dashboards.

  • Customer administrator - Access to user-facing settings and custom options

  • Platform administrator - Access to the Video Vision platform, projects, and deployments.

  • Super administrator - Full access to the entire platform. Reserved for the highest levels of customer support technicians and developers.

RFID Reader

Added support for RFID card readers, allowing integration of RFID card technology into our platform. Users can capture and process RFID card data for access control, authentication, and other applications, streamlining access management processes and improving efficiency and accuracy in user activity tracking.

Compatibility

The Video Vision platform was tested on Ubuntu Server 22.04.03 LTS. No breaking changes were identified.

This version powers major release of Forxai Mirror v1.0.0.
